TOOL Expands Summer Tour
May 29, 2009The Pulse of Radio reports: TOOL has expanded its upcoming summer tour, adding six more shows to the itinerary, according to the band's web site. The trek now kicks off at the Mile High Music Festival in Commerce City, Colorado on July 18, with gigs slated to run through at least early August. The band's last scheduled appearance on this jaunt is at Chicago's Lollapalooza festival on the weekend of August 7.
TOOL drummer Danny Carey told The Pulse of Radio that unlike some groups, the members of the band still travel together on the road. "We pretty much all travel together," he said. "We kind of have to, you know, just for the logistics of everything going down. The schedule gets pretty tight, especially at the beginning of the tour, 'cause there are lots of interviews and, you know, soundchecks. Everything's pretty scheduled out. We're on a bus pretty much all the time in Europe. In America it varies. Sometimes we fly, sometimes we bus it."
The members of TOOL have recently hinted that work is beginning on a new album, but further details have yet to surface. The band's last effort, "10,000 Days", came out in 2006.
Singer Maynard James Keenan has spent much of the last year and a half working with his side project PUSCIFER, as well as his Arizona-based vineyard, Page Springs Cellars.
Keenan and winemaking partner Eric Glomski will continue touring Whole Foods outlets around the country next month for bottle signing sessions.
